26-27 January, 2012Vilnius, Lithuania
Lithuanian Society of Young Researchers (LSYR) is organizing conference “Interdisciplinarity: How to Make it Work” that, we hope, will serve as one of the tools in contributing to the excellence of interdisciplinary research and education. As we observed, different countries and research organisations have had distinct experiences regarding this matter. So, we would like to share best-practices among disciplines, policy makers and implementers, and educators as well.
LSYR expects this conference to contribute in seeking excellence of interdisciplinary research and studies. We expect individuals and organizations to find 'Interdisciplinarity: How to make it Work' as an opportunity to share experiences on how to improve policy making and implementation for interdisciplinary research and education/training to move further. So, we are inviting policy makers and their representatives, representatives of funding bodies, researchers, whole academic community and other parties concerned with interdisciplinary research.
The main objective of the conference is to share knowledge and experience on how to make interdisciplinarity work so that the best results would be achieved. Therefore, the conference will aim at four key themes that will be discussed during separate sessions:
- The Fundamentals of Interdisciplinarity.
- Research and Education Policy Regarding Interdisciplinarity and its Implementation.
- Financing and Evaluating Interdisciplinary Research.
- Experience: Design, Participation and Publishing of Interdisciplinary Research.
